Today, I headed south on the Pacific Coast Highway. This area is more industrial, especially around Long Beach, with oil refineries and oil derricks, both on land and offshore.
However, once I passed the congestion around Long Beach, the views were just as scenic, and the waves just as spectacular. One place I especially liked was Dog Beach, a place created for our four-legged friends. There were lots of dogs there with their human companions, frisking about and making new friends. I know my dogs Scout and Harley would have enjoyed having a nice wide beach to run around on, and maybe even take a splash in the surf.
In the evening, I went to the Westside Comedy Club. There are so many comedy clubs in Los Angeles it was hard to choose, so I picked the one within walking distance. 😊 It proved to be a good choice; the venue was intimate and the comedians were hilarious. It was one of the best nights on my trip.
Laughter is so important: I try to make it part of every day. There is so much stress and pressure that we face, it’s important to put it aside when we can and have a good laugh, even if it’s at ourselves and the crazy things we sometimes do.
If I can make someone smile or laugh, than I feel I’ve contributed to making someone’s day just a little bit better.
